side marker lights in front

how do you get to these? it looks like mine is pushed in too far in the front and i’d like to correct it. I couldn’t find anything on it out on the clerks-garage website. Feels like you can access part of it right through the back of the wheel well but the other part seems to be covered up by a plastic inner wheel well liner or something. That is a 1986.

I am sure someone will jump in with a suggestion, but if you get them out are you going to try and go with clear marker lights?

Have to get the front in the air, take the wheels off, get the fender liner loosened up so you can get to the bolts behind it to loosen the lens.

It looks like the bumper has been off at one time...the gap is wrong..

I seem to recall that you can turn the wheel to the left in this case and there is a small door/flap in front of the tire on the wheel liner. Pull it back. Reach inside and there are 2 white knobs to unscrew to remove. I didn’t need to remove the wheel or the wheel liner.

correct! i was able to turn the wheels to the left and locate the flap you are referring to.

unfortunately this still didn’t give me enough clearance to open the flap fully. i did manage (with a minimal loss of skin) to fit my hand in there and adjust the light assembly back into its rightful spot, however I feel like it could easily be pushed back in like before, so I think I will pull the wheel and get a better look in there and see what needs to be done to affix it properly.

so, very interesting. I pulled the wheel off and was able to assess the situation a little better. I noticed a couple of things. I’m not sure who the previous owner had doing work on the car, but it really makes me wonder if they should be anywhere near an automobile…
first thing i noticed was the o-ring gasket was not seated all the way around the lens as it should be. half of it was hanging off to the back. the other thing i noticed was the plastic frame on the back was backwards (the front part was in the back and the back angled part was towards the front…
you can tell if you look closely.

I also addressed the gap that was pointed out by DAK911.

Yeah, whoever had the bumper off...most likely to be painted, parking scrapes, did not align it properly...and put all the clips back ....
