Had intermittent noises coming from the front suspension. 2021 718 Spyder. It sounded like someone striking a spring. It was driving me nuts!
Doinggg. Doinggg. Had it in a specialty shop. Nope cannot find the source. Other shop says, “ it’s a gt car the suspension makes noise. Oh well.
I Jack up the car and see what i found. Little rocks get embedded between the spring and bottom perch. Look what is is doing to the spring.

Interesting. Were you driving in gravel or possibly was there some kind of unusual track debris?

Whatever, thanks for the heads up. I severely dislike even the slightest odd noises, creaks, rattles, or groans. (Outside of a really good haunted house that is...)

Not really anywhere especially dirty. It happens at totally random times. I was thinking it is the sticky tires throwing the rocks up. I drive on Pirelli trofeo R but the cup 2 where almost as bad.

I had the same issue with my 2021 Spyder. I went to Porsche Of Newport Beach and complained at least 10 times, in writing, phone calls and emails over 15 months. The last procedure to diagnose was a failure. I drove 10 feet out of the dealer parking lot over a small speed bump and it “pinged” again.

I was going to demand Porsche buy my car under Lemon laws in California.

Out of desperation, I took the Spyder to McKenna Porsche. McKenna immediately diagnosed the strut problem. McKenna replaced the right front strut under warranty with an alignment. That was the last of my pinging issues.

So much depends on the character and objectives and quality of a dealer and their staff, especially in the service dept. Glad you got it solved.
