Powerflex and other bushings
I have an '89 S2 I think the suspension is just a little tired. The car wanders just a bit over bumps and just isn't as stable as I'd like. Tires are new Bridgestones and the alignment is good. There is no excessive play in anything anywhere but I wander if overall there is a general softness in the bushings. Anyway I have time to change everything out so I'm interested in your experiences. Powerflex makes a bushing set for the entire suspension. My experience with urethane bushings is the make a car overly harsh and I'm thinking of just using Porsched OEM but hoped to get opinions from people who have made the change.
I'm thinking about going to Powerflex on everything, but I just spent a bunch of time and effort on rebuilding what I have. Just rebuilt my arms and went with Elephant Racing 968 sport hardness caster blocks, and refreshed my struts with new rubber bump stops and 968 H&R springs (1990-1995 struts are the same).
I have yet to get the car back on the road, should do so by this weekend and I can comment about what that does.
Would also say take a look at the steering shaft.
