PIWIS Coding done today!!

A big thanks to Phil @718socal for several PIWIS coding changes today. Phil drove out to fellow Carpoker John’s @Leader house to do some cool coding for our 718 GTS 4.0 cars. Phil was very careful and thorough. He hooked up a battery charger, ran a scan to check for any existing engine codes and then proceeded to change as many parameters as we wanted. For my car, Phil changed the lane changing blinkers from 3 to 4 blinks, remapped the coolant temp gauge for accuracy, coded the auto-start stop to remember the last setting, and coded the doors to not unlock when opening the Frunk or rear lid.
Fortunately for John and me, Phil is local and drove out to us but coding functions can also be done remotely over the internet. Phil can even activate Navigation for those who chose not to purchase this expensive factory option.
Please send Phil a PM at @718socal or respond to this post if you’re interested in any coding changes to your car.

That's pretty cool - nice that you are all local and close to each other. I'm not too far away so how about a visit here?
Question Larry - after Navigation is activated is there a way to update maps without a subscription?

Tim,
Sorry, I don’t know the answer. My guess is no but I’ll let Phil
@718socal chime in.

Yes, my Nav is self-activated with the SD card method, and I've updated the maps twice. The biggest issue with updating the maps is the download time.

Good stuff. Those are some of the best code changes I made to my car.

That is awesome! Curious if it can remember the last mode too? In other words, if the car is turned off when in Sport Mode, can you make remember that for the next time you start it up?

It's free but you have to download the files.

I did not realize that coding could be done remotely.
Seatbelt song and instrument cluster lights always on are at the top of my list.

I don’t think so
