New to forum and I hope I can get use to doing this right with my attachments and such. Name is Al and I'll eventually get up to speed on this.

I've no direct experience with PPI evaluations from afar but I agree it is probably the wise thing to do. Excellent ones definitely exist if you can find them. It needs to be AWD because I’m in the Midwest adjacent to one of the Great Lakes & my search is for a 970 ( 4/4S) between 2012-2016 which hits my acquisition budget best. I’ve looked nationwide & hit a different wall—how to accept a 3rd party evaluation/inspection. Hopefully my next car will be as (front engine) rewarding as my 968/928/Cayenne experiences. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in advance.

Welcome aboard Carpokes! In addition to Blueline's sound advice, another thing you can do is ask for PPI-shop recommendations from locals online once you know the location of a car. The Porsche community generally can tell you who's good, and who's not so good. The quality and detail of PPI's seems to vary a ton from what I've seen, so worth doing a little homework. I'm not sure a Porsche dealer will do a true PPI anymore. When I sold my 991, the buyer wanted a dealer to do a PPI and all the local dealers said no. I even asked my own dealer (who had serviced it from birth) and they said they just don't offer PPI's. Not entirely sure why, but could imagine it gets awkward when they vouch for a car that turns out to have issues...Rooster1 wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 2:11 pm Hiya Panamera fans! Thanks for that info regarding certain Porsche dealers not wanting to do PPI's Tom - I did not know that. Kind of odd but maybe it is the liability thing you touched on or maybe that they want to reserve the service for cars they sell.Tom wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 3:18 pmWelcome aboard Carpokes!
