2023 Cayenne Radar Detector Hardwire Install

Earlier tonight I installed a new radar detector in my wife's brand new 2023 Cayenne S Coupe. The one annoying thing about using a switched fuse is that when the start/stop is enabled, the detector restarts when the engine restarts. It will soon be a non-issue after the car's break in period is over. The car will always be driven in at least Sport mode (no start/stop), and the Individual setting will be programmed to disable start/stop. For now I have the diamond short cut button on the steering wheel programmed to disable start/stop.
EDIT:
For Radenso DS-1 radar detector owners use the Radenso branded direct wire kit. I ordered and installed it to replace the aftermarket hardwire kit I originally used in the post. The Radenso branded kit does not reboot the radar detector with the Cayenne's start/stop engine cycle. The Radenso kit also has a remote mute button.
As far as the hardware, I usually run a Valentine 1 Gen 2 with the JBV1 app in my car. However, my wife doesn't want anything that requires additional steps. Based on her satisfaction with the Radenso Pro-M in her prior car, I decided to purchase the new Radenso DS-1 for the Cayenne. Since she likes to use her sun visors, instead of the windshield mount, I used a BlendMount.

Lately, there have been more than the usual number of local police doing speed enforcement. Perhaps it was because it was month end. Hopefully, the boss lady pays attention to the alerts on her new detector when they go off. I programmed different colors and tones for the various bands.

Great post wem - thanks for the details and the pictures!
As I've mentioned before, I am a huge Mike Valentine fan and have been with his company ever since he broke away from Escort many years ago. I'm currently using four Gen 2 devices with Valentine's concealed displays - never drive without one. I love 'em.
However, regarding auto start/stop, my V1's do not turn off when the engine stops. I have them wired such that as long as the ignition switch is on the V1's are on whether or not the engine is running. There is no stopping and starting of the V1 unless I switch off the key.
I always drive in Sport as you do but it's good that I don't have to worry about the device turning off at every auto stop/start in the event I forget and one of the vehicles is in Normal mode. (And as I said earlier, my wife always drives in Normal mode.)

I remembered now that when I ordered the new detector, the Radenso branded direct wire kit was out of stock everywhere, so I bought an aftermarket hard wire kit. Perhaps the aftermarket kit is too sensitive to current fluctuations. This morning I found the Radenso kit on the BlendMount site. I ordered it. I will see if the Radenso kit makes any difference. Years ago the V1 Gen 1 had some issues. Valentine used to sell an add on called the brown out buster, which maintained a constant current during the start/stop cycles.

I don't know much of anything about Radenso except that they are good detectors, so maybe their direct wire kit will do the job.
V1's brown out functionality was incorporated into the new Gen 2 devices so that their BOB brown-out booster is no longer necessary for the new generation of detectors.
However, in case you ever have an issue (which is not likely imo), the anti brown out functionality can fail. I had it happen twice on my first two Gen 2 V1's after a few months of use in my 12-year-old GMC. (I was interchanging V1 Gen 2's between vehicles since Valentine was unable to meet demand early on.) I'd turn on the ignition and the V1 would power up but when I proceeded to turn the key to the next position to engage the starter the V1 turned off and it might or might not restart on its own. It was intermittent, but if not paying attention I'd sometimes drive with no protection because I was so used to the head unit looking like it's off due to the concealed display.
Anyway, a quick call to Valentine and they said it was a known issue and to send it in. No charge and a very quick fix. Repaired and shipped back same day received - both times on the two different devices. (Valentine has always been great for doing that whenever possible.) Looking back, I think the truck must have some kind of electrical signature or quirk that the early Gen 2's didn't like.

I received the Radenso branded direct wire kit. I installed it today. Good news -- the Radenso branded kit does not reboot the radar detector with the Cayenne's start/stop engine cycle. The additional benefit is the Radenso kit has a remote mute button.

Glad their kit worked.
