Painted Sports Chrono Bezel Interest

Even though Porsche offers different color faces for their instrument cluster gauges and sports chrono, they don’t offer sports chrono bezel color options. Depending on the model, you either get chrome or black plastic.

How many of you would be interested in acquiring painted replacement bezels in the color of your choice to match your car's interior color(s), or deviated stitching color?

Apparently, the bezel just snaps off and snaps back on in a few minutes.

Very cool and you didn’t have to remove the OEM bezel! How hard is it to get Porsche paint in aerosol cans?

I could be wrong but I think a lot of people would like to match their deviated leather or stitching color or even their main interior color. My only observation is that the snap on bezel seems a bit thick. I guess you’re limited by it having to fit over the bezel vs. replacing it. Personally, I think it’s a brilliant idea and talk about “plug and play.” Are you going to start a thread on any other forums to get a larger sample size of interested Porsche owners?

No Sir! I didn't have the nerve to try removing it. ;) I could still tweak it a smidge, but this was kind of a proof of concept. Not sure what the actual bezel looks like when painted, but this shell is paper thin at .5mm, so I think it would take a pretty sharp eye to realize it's not the original bezel... I may work on having it clip in place, though a tiny bit of double-stick tape would probably do it too. Does anyone have a picture of the bezel off the car? I'm not sure how deep this cover shell should be. On a black bezel, it doesn't much matter, but I'd want to cover all of the bezel on cars that came with chrome.

Please see my edited reply. I think it looks very similar to Bob’s painted OEM bezel.

The snap-on bezel I made "should" be only 1mm thicker overall, but let me play with the model tomorrow to make sure it's perfectly snug on the original. It's possible one of the diameters on mine is making it thicker than needed. It looked pretty good in person, but I've never seen a painted version of the original to compare... Also, Ed's post makes me wonder if the 718 and 992 have the same bezel?

p.s., Ed's interior is phenomenal. His leather bolster covers and related parts are in their own league in my opinion. He's my buddy, so I might be biased, but I've seen his stuff side-by-side with other brands, and it was no contest...
