Carpokes Porsche Forum

As of July 2, this board is still in a very nascent stage, so bear with me as I learn the ropes and get things set up. Thom gets credit for the first post last weekend, after I installed the generic forum software and didn't realize it was public. Life's one adventure after another -- so let's just see where this one goes!

I'm not planning to add a long list of Porsche models, just for the sake of it. My thought is to create model-specific boards if we have people who really want to see a board for a particular model and are enthusiastic about being the champions of that board. If that's you, or if you know of Porsche people looking for an out-of-the-way place to call home on the internet, please let me know! Happy to set up additional model-specific forums if/as there's a call for them.

In the meantime, my thanks to those who have signed up. You're all charter members now. --Tom

As long as the amount of members remains "reasonable" I would suggest not adding too many specific sub forums. No idea how big this board will grow but keeping things "small" in an intimate and just human sort of way may help it stand out from most others boards which have perhaps outgrown themselves with too many sections. Just a random thought.

Absolutely! This place is all about 'keeping the faith' and 914-pokes are among the best at that! One in ten Porsches flash their lights back at me up on mountain roads. One in ten 914 drivers don't! This site is for the headlight flashers! I'll take your comment as a vote for a 914 board, representing about 4% of users in favor. If that climbs into double digits, I'll have no choice but to add a dedicated 914 board.
