Prelude
Have you ever taken anything apart and wished you had taken better notes or photos? I have.
This post is part of a continuing series of posts that detail the internal construction of various things. This is
not intended to be step-by-step instructions for repair/removal/disassembly/etc. Rather, I hope this post (and future posts) can serve as a reference for people who would like visual clues in making their own repairs.

Agreed, I'm wondering if we should create a little subform with an index to 'pictures of the insides of stuff' ?

Thank you!
I genuinely hope these photo posts will help people finish a project, or help them decide whether they should attempt a repair based on what they're gonna find inside (knowing their own skills and comfort level, etc).

That would be great. I'd love to see the photos others contribute.

I got them from Pelican. The part number appears on the bag in the photo.
The brass gears are machined very well and are a direct drop-in replacement.

Agreed. I sometimes forget to take a picture or get the wrong angle to see a detail. Pictures worth a thousand words
