"Porsche, Toyota and Ferrari have been the dominant players coming into the sixth round of the World Endurance Championship. Porsche and Toyota each have two victories, but Ferrari triumphed in the rainy donnybrook at Le Mans.
The Cadillac squad, however, may have some advantages in the first COTA appearance by the WEC since 2017."

Lamborghini is assessing its IMSA/WEC program involvement . I wonder if this is related to the struggles of the mother ship VW ?

That reasoning wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Sebastian Bourdais to run in LMP2 next year . It's a shame he couldn't stay in the top tier but he will do well in the new team .

I can't help but feel that this is tied to Volkswagen AG's financial, product, and sales woes.

VW and some other Manufacturers have followed the mandated European Mandates on EV to their detriment , as Infrastructure is slow to transform and humans, as usual , are slow to change. I have no doubt that we will see more and more Electric machines as their technology improves even more, but at present VW and others have not realized that one needs to view all their markets separately and not as a whole. The US is not rushing EV infrastructure like Europe or China and it seems Toyota got the message better than almost anyone, going with more Hybrids throughout their product line , with EV build at a more measured pace.
Porsche says no more 718s , etc. yet one has to hope they make a change as they have in the past and market specifically to the US. Britain and other areas where EV growth is at slower pace. These Markets will definitely welcome continued product choices. Jaguar is going full Electric ( recently announced ) and it has been condemned Worldwide.
I have no doubt I will own an EV machine in future years as having driven a Taycan I realized quickly I like speed more than noise, but at present, I , like so many others, want to see driving range improvements and more places to power up. I really like the idea of a Hybrid, knowing the hinterlands of the Midwest will be slow to get " Charging Stations " in all the little bergs across the Heartland.
Speaking of Hybrids, thank goodness F1 is back on and time to watch the practice sessions.
Sorry to ramble, but I know we all wish VW/Porsche/Audi/Lamborghini, Seat/ Skoda/etc. revamps some models while continuing to view all types of technical changes and advancements ( in all areas of propulsion ).
