Rotties...best dogs ever! I've had 3 of them, but without a doubt the best dog (and my first ever dog) was my Rottie, Brikka. Got her in 1983 when I was 27. Outstanding dog! But, I have been with mixed breed dogs ever since and have no regrets. Far fewer issues with bad genes in the mutts, and they seem to live longer. But I'd rescue a Rottie again if the opportunity came up.

I've had Rotties (all girls) with no interruption since 1980. There's always been at least one, usually two and occasionally three at the same time but yes, their lives are far too short. Mixed breeds do much better in that respect and they make wonderful pals too, no doubt among the best.

I had a few different breeds many years ago and have also had a few mixed breeds and walk-ons/rescues along the way.

I love dogs.
