Although Monaco is generally a boring race this one was especially so with the B teams slowing everyone down as the A teams led the tedious parade. At least there was Indy to watch.
Monaco has been rumored to be on its last legs for a long time but the spectacle and prestige of the super wealthy attending probably means it goes nowhere.
Autoweek article with their view along with a few of the drivers' take on Sunday's poor excuse of a race:
https://www.autoweek.com/racing/formula ... rand-prix/
Some quotes care of the Autoweek write-up about the Monaco "race":
"Sainz quipped that a ‘joker’ lap could be allowed – where a driver is allowed a shortcut – which came in the wake of Russell cutting the chicane to pass Alex Albon, being given a drive-through penalty, but still coming out ahead on track."
Russell also proffered a possible alternative: “For all of the drivers, qualifying is the most exhilarating moment of the weekend,” he said. “Do we accept that there should be no race? And it's a qualifying race. You do one on Saturday, one on Sunday. And the guy who qualifies pole gets some points. He gets a little trophy. And the one on Sunday gets some more points. Because that's what we love most. I think that's what you guys enjoy watching the most. And 99% of the other people in Monaco are here sipping champagne on the yacht, so they don't really care.”

"Counting the number of pit stops for each team was about the most exctiting thing about Sunday’s F1 Monaco Grand Prix"

Agree, Im not a huge fan of Monaco as the race itself is usually nothing to watch. To me it’s the Burning Man of F1. Lots of glitz and a little substance.

I am a Max fan but what he did to George was an amateur move and just stupid . Congrats to Piastri for another solid drive . Williams and Haas were lost at this race . Lance pulled out and didn't start , I doubt many folks noticed .

The FIA just released their decision officially and of course confirmed that Max was guilty

One thing to note on the letter is that Max has 11 of 12 penalty points for the 12 month period. Points last for 12 months and his next points to expire are after the Austrian GP. If he incurs any more before then he will get a ban.

I'm an unabashed Ferrari F1 fan.
Moving into second in the Constructor's Championship makes me smile.
Cheers
