TIme flies- I have met very few of the current drivers as I do not go to the races an more, but here are a few pics I took in the Paddock club or around the pits.....
Somewhere my son has a 15th birthday card I had brought with me to a race and it was signed by Jackie Stewart, Mika Haakinen and Damon Hill. I had it framed.

Lewis and his first F1 win:

What a great group of pictures and I would frame that BD card for my son also. I am hoping he is still an F1 fan as you are . I would agree Japan was a great race and I felt frustrated for Sergio, he is talented, but next to Max I think the pressure to stay close behind may be taxing him. I am very impressed with Liam and would not be surprised if someone snags him up if he lingers as a reserve driver for very long.

Christian Horner stated after the race he's going to have a sit down chat with Checo . I think RB believes Checo has lost it and is mentally broken . If he can't turn it around in the remaining races on the calendar they could be a driver change at RB . With only one year left on his contract it's only one check written and he's gone .

I didn't see Horner's comment, but I did read between the lines in one of the Autoweek articles regarding Sergio Perez's performance (or lack thereof) and wondered if something might be afoot.

About 2/3rds down the second piece there was this sub-heading: "Teammate Sergio Perez Hits a Rut" followed by words like this: "...collapse across the middle part of the season..." and "In a dominant car, finishing second is the expectation but Perez faltered after his early wins."

I'd agree that it doesn't look very good for Perez. It's now obvious that Red Bull expected him to finish the season in 2nd place.

There are those of us that are fans of Sergio, but I do believe he is in a funk where trying too hard to keep up with Max is causing him to overdrive, make mistakes and have issues with consistency. The interesting question is if Checo is let go who will replace him, and many may immediately assume Ricciardo will just step up, but I again wonder if Daniel has the skills to place any better. Both drivers are super likable and yet I wonder who would give Max a run for his money and at present I think it would be someone from another Team, yet even if Horner could get someone like Norris or even Hamilton ( far fetched I know , but just as examples ) I doubt Max would welcome or even allow a driver that might actually push him or challenge his dominance. After Liam Lawson's runs and Piastri's grabbing a young driver to groom might be the best choice, though McLaren will likely handcuff Piastri to the steering wheel after his weekend in Qatar.

Lewis DQed after second place finish at COTA. Must be very disappointed.

Very disappointed that it appears the Haas upgrades are crapple . The drivers and Gunther Steiner all said the upgrades did not perform as expected . That doesn't bode well for the 2024 season .

Regardless of the circumstances it was good to see Logan Sargeant get his first F1 point . Maybe just maybe that is the moment that relieves some pressure and he can kick it up a notch .

Max had to earn the win but to no surprise he did . He is in the zone . And how far have Aston Martin fallen . Their upgrades are turning out to be crapple also .

I would think that Sargeant and Stroll will be doing something else next year. Also wonder if Checo will be around.
