I wanted to share my positive experience using Tom's 3D-printed timing belt tool. To ensure accuracy, I used a smaller 1/4" torque wrench set to 84 in-lbs. My car is an '87 with the spring tensioner, and according to Clark's Garage (ENG-10), the spring tensioner typically sets the belt to the used spec on the 9201 tool (2.7 ± 0.3) after rotating the crankshaft 10° counterclockwise to relieve tension on the upper span. I found that this aligned perfectly with the 'U' mark on the 3D-printed tool, which was very reassuring. The tool was highly sensitive to slight tension changes, and the results were consistently repeatable, making it easy to set the belt to the new specification. My only suggestion would be to decrease the inner diameter of the counterbored hole that fits over the standoff on the cam housing as mine fit quite loosely.

Awesome, glad it worked out. I get very little feedback so this is great to see. Looks like you modified the model a bit? I should probably provide some measurement specs so people can scale the model and/or calibrate their printers as needed. The hub is a fairly good fit when I print it, at least from memory, though I could probably stand to calibrate my printer again too....

I made some slight modifications to the model - mainly to add an adapter for a 1/4" square drive and to include the 9201 labelling to increase the value by $1000 . I've made numerous other 3D-printed parts for these cars that I will try to get uploaded to this forum in the near future.
