Had my Grandson watching some of the race with me and he was disappointed when Rexy had issues with some electrical issues , though he was pleased they fixed things and Rexy got back in the race. With the Green Beast down 5 laps we figured he was extinct for the Championship win , but they plodded on and on finishing the race and were a very major part of the final hour or so , since the number 57 Aston Martin was ripping through the field and needed to get to second to be the GTD Pro Champion. He got to 4th, then third and somehow he hit a wall there , unable to pass the Lambo in second and the miracle of Braselton , Ga. occurred , with Rexy winning the Championship by 4 points!!
A second place finish gave the Penske Motorsports GTP the Championship , and it was a great run this year compared to 2023.
Guten Tag fur Porsche Rennen !!!

Rexy got the pole and gained 5 points , amazing how crucial those 5 points became . Congrats on the championship in GTD Pro . What can you say about Penske ? They have a plan , execute the plan and get results . Time after time . Congrats on the championship .
I have been going to Petit for over 10 years , I have never seen it so packed with fans ! I also don't remember ALL infield parking sold out . It was for this race . The IMSA formula sure is attracting the manufacturers/sponsors/fans . This was a great race to watch live the atmosphere was electric . Hopefully that came across to the TV viewers . Looking forward to Daytona .

Great news on the attendance! IMSA racing is about as good as it gets, at least for me. I've got to make it down there for the Petit one of these years. Time waits for no one, especially not me. Lol.
Thank you for filling us in on some of your observations.

The # 51 Ferrari hypercar was stripped of its second place finishing position . It was determined after the race that they used too many tires . The penalty dropped them to 14th . That moves the # 5 Porsche to second .
