Black badge on & I love it.(Excuse the dirty car) I'll have to redo the badge as the H & E look a bit off, but I can deal with it for now.

I left the car with at the shop so it could be thawed out and have all the ice build up removed at the ice. Once that was done, they built a catch can to hopefully prevent this from happening in the future. I asked for the can to be left with the raw uncoated finished.

I guess blown intercooler hoses and catch cans are a universal thing for hot rod turbo cars. :) I made my own catch can for all the same reasons... I powder coated mine black, however, so it would 'blend in' and stand out less.

And the IC pipes always blow while merging onto the highway

Amazing work on the catch Tom. I wish I had the skills & knowledge to make something like that.

The raw uncoated look has grown old. I'll be sending the can in for black PC.

It will look like this to match the engine cover

Thanks, I'm a hack compared to a lot of people out there, but have made an effort to learn how to do a lot of this stuff for myself. If you can find an old oven, Powder Coating is remarkably easy and cheap at home. Love the crinkle finish black (or red) and think it will look great under your hood. :)

As for intercooler pipes popping off, I finally had enough and welded 'boost braces' on to keep the pipes from pulling apart. All the fancy clamps in the world are no match for a metal bar holding everything together. Here's a bad picture of the ones I put on my custom pipes...

@Tom
Those boost braces are awesome. They definitely solve any issues with the pipes blowing off.

Did you use the VHT spray for your powdhercoating?
I played around with some a few years back(my wife was not happy I used the house oven lol).

Wrinkle Powdercoating is amazing.

This is a valve cover I did for my Toyota soarer(1JZGTE)

Looks great! I've never tried VHT powder -- do they make that? I've powder coated lots of things under the hood and never had an issue. I use mostly Eastwood or Prismatic powder. A long time ago, I got a powder coating oven at Harbor Freight, like the one below, and it's been going strong for over a decade. For reasons unknown, it looks like HF no longer sells them. :(

@Tom VHT is in a spray can. More https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht- ... s-coatings. Eastwood and Prasmatic are definitely the way to go if you have an oven and all the tools(spray gun amd etc). Try it out and see how you like it. You can get it at Walmart, Napa, etc.

When I did my valve cover I painted them, reinstalled and took a 2hour drive on the highway to "cure".

Drivetrain inserts are installed. Thanks to Bill and the guys at Garage Autosport for letting me use a hoist to install these. (Surface rust will be attacked with por 15)

These inserts feel fantastic. The car feels solid, and you can tell the power is all being transfered to the tires. I haven't noticed any difference in NVH but @Teddis will drive my car in the next week or 2.

Insert kit for rear diff, street density DSG/PDK mount and Insert.
