Sadly I sold that car...at the time I had no space for the 991 so it had to go. The only one I ever sold. The option was available at my local dealer in Toronto but they did not advertise is for some reason. As for Alcantara it does require some care but ultimately it wears, My 991 is fine but the 997 needs to be redone/

Nice pic. That was a fine car. I now recall some of your laments about not having kept it.
The alcantara on the '21 GT4 steering wheel is still like new. I wear gloves on track 100% of the time and for street driving I make sure that my hands are clean or wear some cheap driving gloves (which I dislike) or even on rare occasions drive with the spokes if not in traffic. My steering wheel still looks brand new at 15,000+ miles (of which 3,600 are track miles).
Can alcantara steering wheels be recovered properly? I know that the default is to just replace the steering wheel with a costly new one.

There are some specialists who can do it I believe. I will be speaking to a friend in Michigan on this very subject in the next few weeks.
