^^^ My uneducated guess ......... a true hypercar designed/built from the ground up is superior to the IMSA version . There is just enough difference to make a difference . At least that's how I see it .

There could be some truth in it, especially as Ferrari's car is dominating WEC. But you'd think any small differences would be more than compensated by BOP.

When Porsche starts getting beat up by Peugeot, Alpine and Aston Martin, it'll be time to evo the 963...or replace it with a chassis designed by Porsche. And maybe one with the flat engine...

Same cars, same team - Penske. Results unchanged after multiple BOP adjustments.

Anyone have any ideas where this huge disparity is coming from?
Here's an article with a pretty good take from Autoweek's Jonathan Ingram -

"What’s Behind the Winning Streaks of Ferrari, Porsche?"
And if BoP is working so well in IMSA and WEC, why aren’t more teams winning?

"One manufacturer invariably finds an advantage and exploits it."
"Consistent speed over an entire stint is most likely the advantage enjoyed by the current serial executioners at Ferrari and Porsche."

Well the 24 Hours of LeMans is in the history books . I personally believe the BOP adjustments given to Ferrari in hypercar stacked the deck for them . Congratulations to Porsche Penske for getting 2nd place .

In GT3 another solid win for Manthey Porsche . They are always consistent on race pace and strategy . Thank you to Motortrend TV for 24 hours of coverage .

Nice to see Kubica in such a win. Very decent guy- I met him a few times during his F1 days and was at the Canadian GP ( coincidentally it will be on today) when he won it. A few shots I took of that race:

If a Ferrari had to win I am glad it was a customer team with a driver line up including Kubica .

The # 50 Ferrari has been disqualified from their 4th place finish at LeMans . Post race inspection found four bolts missing from the rear wing supports . The missing bolts allowed more deflection of the wing than allowed . Less deflection = less resistance so more top speed . The other two hypercar Ferraris were inspected and they were compliant .

I call BS on the penalty to the Porsche. Backmarker Aston Martin indeed. That was a crappy, unnecessary move inside and either the Aston driver did it on purpose or else he was totally unaware of Estre's Manthey Porsche behind him which, if the case, is a bad look on the driver of the Aston. The win should be reinstated to the Porsche imo. Unfortunately, that's not happening.

Autoweek:

"Whose Fault Was This Crash at the Nürburgring 24?"
"Resulting penalty bumped Porsche from top of podium."

^^^ tough call but I agree the backmarker pinched the Porsche down he left no room . Tough weekend everywhere for Porsche racing . IMSA was a bad result also for top class and GT3 .
