So many of us grew up watching F1 on taped delay or year later searching the Internet for more data, until finally it has become more and more a fully broadcast program that does not get pre-empted by the National Cheerleading Finals.

It has changed, yet overall there is more passing, it has become a spectacle , but I am just an old optimist that views the entire growth of F1 as great , because the end result is there a more fans than ever before. Sure it is not the same as when we grew to enjoy the sport , but due to the technical automotive advancement many of us longed to see being done in racing it has almost always had a dominant team. Yet, as we age we forget that we have gone through many periods where one team seemed to be the one overlord to the others, but I do appreciate the advent of more passing ( even if down the line a bit ) and the drama may at times be silly, I welcome the fact that my grandson is getting interested and that makes me believe there will be another generation of Trackrat Wackos to continue our 4 wheeled passion.

I have mixed feelings overall. I think the whole Netflix Drive to Survive stuff is trying to add a lot of utterly useless puffery and the new circuits like Las Vegas and Miami are not really good circuits but are there just for celebrity spectacle,

I still follow F1 though I just watch the races and quality. Don't care about all the lifestyle, girlfriends and the rest of it.

At one stage I had amazing access to F1 and once even got on the starting grid in the last few minutes when the cars were ready to go and had a lot of walks in the grid in the last half hour period. There is an amazing hum of excitement to the thing.
A couple of pics I took. Hamilton's first win.......

The number of new fans is staggering as is the tremendous growth in popularity - all of that is good.

As you said, dominance by drivers and/or teams comes and goes and isn't as bothersome as the excessive money, a bit too much hype, and mostly for me, the loss of the rawness that marked F1 for so long. Regarding dominance and streaks, generally speaking that is the hallmark desire of new sports fans - the longer the better for many. Bandwagon comes to mind.

However, change is inevitable. F1 is definitely refined and expensive now which is a natural direction I think, especially considering the attention the series has drawn. Much is very good. Optimism too!

Oh, the girlfriends have always been there, we just didn't get to see them as often as we do now! Pictures of James Hunt and his Baskin Robbins list of female admirers made me want to be a F1 driver when I was younger ,ha,ha!

Good race by Sainz but the RBs are unbeatable; they have a great driver, the world’s best car designer in Adrian Newey, and a superbly disciplined team . I expect Max to be world champion by Japan and the rest of the races will be irrelevant.

There is no doubt Adrian Newey is THE chassis whisperer . Car has downforce with minimal drag . Car is gentle on tires . DRS is superior to all others . Add to that two great drivers . Pit stops are consistently fast and error free . The entire RB organization is firing on all cylinders . The rest of the field have their work cut out for them to catch/beat this dominant team .

Red Bull’s 15th win in a row as a team. Have won 24 out of the last 25 F1 races. There are a lot of things going their way while the other teams just watch dejectedly. They're happy for crumbs at this point...

The "Chassis Whisperer" - I like it!

Accolades from last Sunday's Italian GP F1 race from Larry Webster of Hagerty Media -

"Two of the best drivers in the world provided a masterful performance during last weekend’s Formula 1 race in Italy. Ferrari’s home race is always a passionate affair mobbed by fans of the scuderia. They were ecstatic when Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz outdrove the field to nab pole position."
