Have had so many issues with my rear trigger on this car that i never made any real progress before this week when i received a 36-1 trigger kit from https://928-944parts.com/en/products/po ... 9321906516. I have had so much electro magnetic interference on the sensor that i have broken coils and two ECU ignition drivers .
Now on my second ecu replaced for free by Motorsports Electronics i did not risk firing the full current trough the ECU, so went with TTL Honda k20 active coils. I have used 3 different starter motors new double shielded wires on the sensor , 3 different sensors, different sensor bracket . 2 different coils (both now dead) and 2 sets of ignition leads .

Now with the new trigger setup i tried cranking and nothing no noise what so ever. I am so happy it all suddenly worked like i hoped it would 2 years ago when i started this project .

I decided to try to start the car, i was so exited that i forgot to reset my fixed 0° ignition advance lock as shown in this video but the engine came to life. O and yeah at 12° and is even better idles like a champ now time to think about bolting this car back together and do some tuning to see where i am at .

Finally i have a working engine . This has been a monumental pain the whole process and i feel like i can gain motivation and traction with the project again. Not sure why i have the issue with starter kickback but i will not look back at that and try to move forward. It also maybe explains why i could never get the stock S DME to fire the injectors maybe it was also an issue then

I really like that trigger wheel setup. Simple and elegant at a reasonable price. It’s worked flawlessly for me.

I am very biased at the moment this trigger was a breeze to install and fixed everything for me so i can not recommend it enough.

Here is another clip for anyone interested. Still have exhaust leaks and a coolant leak i need to address and also the throttle cable pulls the throttle bodies up 5-6% so also need to address that. Running 1800rpm idle at the moment

Currently working on something special after getting rid of the s54 powered e36 i wanted to develop a wide angle setup for my 944. Currently i do have control over camber and and toe but will need rotatable camber plates to be able to maintain control over the caster . Also i have not yet decided what to do with the steering rack ideally i want less than 3.5 turns lock to lock that i currently have with the Manual 15 rack.

I will be running the same 215 front tires for a grassroots drifting license with this car and local track is very short with no highspeed sections so i need to have a more aggressive caster setting to allow the car to self steer at the expense of high speed stability. Well initiation speed is max 70kmph anyways for the class. Control arms are 70mm longer than an early offset arm. Bump steer kit from a VW rabbit . Also depending on alignment i may have to machine rack spacers
