Those EGTs though…looks to be getting pretty high! Is that measured at the turbine inlet or closer to the head?

I try to stay below an absolute max of 930C measured at the inlet.

Yes I know, but that's where they have always been, also with the previous engine. The sensor is on the fitting of the cross pipe.
I'm not near the knock threshold yet so I might be able to lower them.

Yes, it's ~4.1 seconds. Wish I had kept the logs of my 8V engine to compare.

Does Laust still make sensors? I definitely should replace mine.

I don't know, but if you can track down Laust and get him over here on Carpokes, I'd love it. I'll even buy you one of his EGT kits. If he's hung up the gloves, I'm sure we could replicate his kit with a little effort....

Are you sure it's not your calibration and that you actually have a bad sensor....? It's not typical for a thermocouple to "go bad" by having an offset reading like that. They usually fail sort or open, reading min or max temperature. Unless you are mixing thermocouple types and connectors, i.e. using a K-type thermocouple with a J-type connector, that might cause an offset.

What are you using for an amplifier? Not familiar with Laust's kit, does his include an amplifier or just fittings and thermocouple?

Been using a PLX sensor module with the right calibration. When the engine is cold egt reads 130° with ambiant of 30°C before cranking it.
