I once went for a drive through the Napa wineries in a 1979 911SC and I will second that! The roads weren't Tail of the Dragon good by any means, but they were perfectly paved (for tourism) and driving past the rolling vineyards in a vintage 911, windows down, sunroof open, made a very lasting impression!

rjbasch wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 1:35 pm Hey ReidMcT, some info for you regarding the items you requested:

-Wheel debris protectors: "TLG Guards" from Kies Motorsports: https://www.kiesmotorsports.com/product ... be30&_ss=r

-Custom designed 20" 2-piece wheels: I completed the purchase from a company called "Tianjin Dunhui Trade Co, Ltd" (https://dunhuicn.en.alibaba.com/) in China via the Alibaba.com "messages" interface. My sales rep's name was "Suen LiAng" and his responses to my messages were always in English (although they were sometimes a bit odd because I believe he was using a Chinese-to-English translation tool). Although the wheels I selected were custom-made to my specifications, they have LOTS of wheels to choose from, and they can customize anything based on the size and offset you're looking for. I selected the 20" x 8.5" front with +47ET and 20" x 11" rear with +45ET for my 718 Boxster S. You may want to go with 10.5" in the rear if you're looking for more of a stock fitment. The total cost was much less than 1/2 of what I was quoted in the US (I paid just under $2K), and the shipping wasn't too bad at about $250. The entire process took about 2 months from design to receipt, so you'll have to be patient if you want this to work. Of course, this was all pre-tariffs so I'm not sure what the cost would be now.

Pic of my wheels being forged!

Hope this helps!
That's being machined, not forged. Forging process (if there was one) would have been before it was machined.
