Awesome JP! I love 10/10ths - Bill Neal does a fantastic job and is one of the nicest people you'll meet. (Track days in general bring out the best people any gathering could hope to see.)

I'm not registered for Barber as I'll be at Polecat on Sep 23rd but I know you'll have fun. I imagine the AL PCA event at Barber will sell out - it usually does. They put on great track days!

Glad you found the event sheets - they do help. Owen Trinkler (IMSA pro driver) is putting PTC events together and I assist a bit so if you ever get the urge to go let me know and I'll get you hooked up!

So very sad that she's gone. Meeting her and being on the 'Ring with her driving any car would have been one of life's highlights for me.

Glad you had that opportunity.

She was great fun and I saw her many times there. Used to stay in her family hotel in Nürburg. I knew she was not well for several years and one of the truly great things about the community there was that everyone else knew too and nobody posted anything on the web. It is quite a small community at its core despite all the hype and visitors.

I surmised that hers was a private life. That's the way things should be on many matters, especially regarding a situation such as hers.

From what little I know about her, the racing community and the world in general lost a wonderful person far too soon. However, she lived her life well!

What a great little story I have never heard and so indicative of the respect other drivers had for her, as well as showing what how tight racing folks are in their broad community. I am sure you have great memories and did you happen to have her sign any of your Porsches or memorabilia. She was a true legendary figure before her time and with her early passing it shows the respect so many had in Europe and around the World. She was a true Star and I am sure she is one still up there shining!

She was a fearsome competitor, a quaffed helicopter pilot and accomplished horsewoman and had an identical 7.2 RS , plus the full race cars of course...........I did not bother with signatures - a few more pics I took:

This track eats tires. I was ok'd for solo after the third session. The 944 guys are great and I appreciate them letting me join DE on Friday (944s only-ish), as there were other 'Fest events I wanted to participate in over the weekend while open DE was happening.

I've got one more DE planned @ Mid-Ohio, end of month. This has really been fun for me this year, but I'm racking up miles :(

Nice, nice, nice! Traffic too - great fun and good for moving up.

Tires - yes, many tracks are tire eaters. I rotate side to side at the end of each day to get a little bit more wear. Negative camber will help in that respect along with better handling too.

Excellent photos - thanks for posting! Glad you had a good time!!
