From what I'm able to ascertain it has to do with very shallow or thin brake pads, even new, and a pad material which is very soft to reduce noise or squeal that most people who own cars like these might get. I'm getting ready to do a complete brake job myself and will change over to some Hawk 500 performance pads which give a greater initial brake bite and clamping power than stock with less brake dust as well. I've used this type and brand in the past on my other cars and they are great for the street and even some light track/autocross duty if needed. Now i'm looking for some lighter 2-piece brake rotors to go with this if available. I'll let all know what happens when completed.

I have a 2016 GTS has the same brake feel you describe. Multiple brake bleeding were no help. I have considered adding steel braided brake lines, but have been too lazy.
