The fix-a-flat products are a last resort, and as mentioned they tend to foul TPMS sensors. They also gum up the wheels and can cause balance issues. Keep the engine running while the compressor is on.

My touring kit has a string patch kit and a small air compressor. I have to remember to replace that glue in the kit every few years. I've used it once in the last 20+ years and it wasn't for my own car. Be prepared, and you'll never have a puncture. It's Fig Newton's forth law. :eh:
I've had great disdain for portables until someone showed me their DeWalt 20V Max. Once I tried it, that changed my outlook on portables forever. Immediately ordered mine - found a handy case for it too, so it's easy to store and put in the car.

Obviously it doesn't perform the same as a standard tank compressor but for a portable inflator it is magnifico!

I'd probably have better results from good 'ole boys in pickup trucks stopping to help.
Same here. We have AAA, in case we have an issue when we’re in the southern, populated areas. I have a Milwaukee M18 inflator. It’s a little big to carry around in the car, but it works great.

My emergency kit includes a pair of hiking shoes to get to cell coverage, and a corkscrew to facilitate a picnic while waiting for the response.

I had a flat in my Audi a few years ago on a dark, cold November morning on the way to the airport. Five cars passed me, 3 stopped and asked if I needed help.
