I attached playing cards using wooden clothes hangers on my bicycle forks so that I'd get sound from the spokes. (That was a really long, long time ago.) To add insult to injury, the only mode I care to drive in is Sport so I'm stuck with the burble. Normal mode is way, way too tame, Sport Plus is fun but not really usable at all for street driving unless your 18 doing a rendition of Fast & Furious preceding your untimely demise. In all seriousness, I feel it's pretty rough on the entire drive-train to use Sport Plus for extended periods of normal driving. It's an aggressive map.
Let me know if you find a way to shut down the burbles but I don't think there is one. Agreed re Normal mode -- it's abnormal.I'm fine with all of it except the transmission mapping, which will keep the motor at uncomfortably low rpms and lug the car around. It must be a gas mileage target thing. My truck is the same way. I'll have to confirm next time I'm in the car, but I 'thought' you could turn off the PSE sport mode even when you are in sport mode? The burbles don't bother me, but are kind of amusing on a computer controlled car. Reminds me a bit of the early electronic blinker sounds that tried to replicate the sound of mechanical relays.

Same for me, Normal is fine except for the PDK shift map. I actually prefer the fly-by-wire throttle map of Normal over the artificial over-sensitive map of Sport. And the exhaust burbles come with a significant fuel economy hit.
