I reached out to Racers Edge regarding Wossner Pistons.

The issue was resolved. Wossner is no longer using the coating that was the issue. For specific details on that contact Karl at Racers Edge.

Alusil Pistons are now PC-9 coated for Alusil.

Wossner also lists 2 different part numbers for 944 turbos.

The screenshot is from a Wossner Piston catalogue for reference not Racers Edge.

One part number for Alusil blocks

A second part number for non Alusil blocks

I would recommend that anyone in the US to reach out to Karl at Racers Edge if buying Wossner.

Racers Edge deal with 944 stuff as many on here are probably familiar.

Something went wrong the first time when I uploaded the screenshot that’s why there are two

Worth noting that Swain's own website says PC-9 works well with nickasil, chrome or iron cylinder bores, but Alusil is conspicuously missing from that list. I've read anecdotal reports saying pc-9 works in the 944, along with plenty of seller claims, but I'm not sure how much real world validation we really have?

Some readings on the iron-based Mahle piston coatings...

Not going to re-hone a brand new Porsche block with Perfect cylinder walls

I've never don't it, but it's my understanding that Mahle Motorsport will make pistons to customers' specs...

Someone on the PCGB forum used Mahle Motorsport pistons for their Alusil rebuild within the last couple of years I think. I'll admit I was sceptical and posted that, but it seems it's all good. So showed how much I knew.

Sunset lists 951-103-091-71, which is 100.5 Group 2 for $427.86, but that doesn't do you any good.

I've got Mahle Motorsport pistons in my alusil build, no problems so far. Not the cheapest option though

Any chance you have paperwork for them you could share with us?

Would potentially make it a bit easier when I contact Mahle and if other people follow that route.

Thanks
