Curt, welcome to the group.
Love the sound of the 3.2 on full song and I often wish my 951 was a bit more sonorous.
Thank you for joining!

Hey y'all, this is Rob checking in. Been working on 944s for well over 15 years now as we as other european cars here in GA. Thought I'd say hi again in case I missed it, but also wanted to share my car with ya here:
Not sure how far to go with the swap talk here, so I'll leave that be for another time, but I do have a project that might interest some. I've got a 944 that I will be documenting installing a rusEFI uaEFI as seen here:
https://www.shop.rusefi.com/shop/p/uaef ... rdable-efi
These are very capable ecus at great budget with built in drive by wire and wideband capabilities. The install will utilize a S2 flywheel for the crank trigger (until I work with rusEFI on adding the double trigger stock configuration), and added CAM sensor. The plan is to 3D print as much as I need for this swap (CAM sensor housing and cap and well as TPS sensor conversion piece over to a BMW TPS as well as a MAF tube that bolts into the factory location and uses a blade style MAF). I'll throw up any stl and document as much as I can here and on youtube, maybe. Either way, just wanted to say hi!

@robstah
Thanks for posting that video with the transaxle group. As you may have seen, there are a lot of transaxle members and posts so I think you found a good place to post.
Welcome and thanks for joining.

I’m not sure if I have done this before, since I just found out that I was previously registered. I rarely drive my 944 Turbo S, and more often drive my Cayenne Turbo. I love reading about all the things that can be done to the 944, but I have yet to do any of them. The drive train is 100% original. 62k miles, hasn’t been tracked in many years. It’s a rare single owner car.

First time logging in not sure this is how to “reply”? How about a simple “reply” button? Ok, I’m sorry, I know this is free and no ads and that’s amazing, thank you. About your 944, what an amazing car that was and is. My good friend in HS had a new Yellow 944 (guilty parents I guess? Not mine, I had an eight year old Forrest Green Firebird Esprit 350 flat bedded to me when I turned 16. Dad had wrecked it, fixed gave to my sister who wrecked it, and it sat there for 3 years till I turned 16. Don’t fix it for me bc he knew I’d obsess over it and drive him crazy. Favorite car to this day I guess sentimental value means a lot) I loved the smell of the 944 and didn’t know enough about porsche to know it was “different” from normal Porsches. I was so sad when they discontinued it. How about bringing it or the 968 back? I believe it would be a top seller of you price it somewhere near the Boxster. Give it a shot. Anyway, I have a 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet bolt on fully modified and she is just amazing every time I get in the car I think “how lucky am I to be able to drive her”. She’s not my first convertible turbo but she will either be my last or get a sibling bc I will never sell her. One of my grandkids (when my girls have them) will inherit it. But I’ll give it to them while I’m alive (I hope) so I can enjoy watching g their faces and say, “gramps, this car doesn’t even fly!” To which I’ll reply, “just get in and drive you will understand”. Thanks for letting join and for reading this far. Love to all the Porsche owners!Stevewcpa wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 6:33 pm I’m not sure if I have done this before, since I just found out that I was previously registered. Glad I found you “pokers”.
Been a car nut my whole life still love my first car, a 1978 completely wrecked firebird Espree 350. Sentimentally she will always be my favorite.
First Porsche was a 2008 Turbo Cab. Fell in love with the Turbo and I’ve gone through four and the one I have now I will never let go of. Hopefully one day I will get her a sibling but like my rescue Pittie mix, Rollo, will never be sent to a new home. “Roxxy”, a 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet - GT Silver, Navy Top, Chalk with Navy interior. I believe it’s the only one specked like that in the country. West Palm Beach Porsche - long story - crux of it is they said there “is not another one with those color combinations in the USA and Stuttgart. Seems crazy, but the word “Chalk” might scare people. Until I saw it in person, I had all black interiors and a Chocolate Brown. I am now hooked on her. If anyone knows someone else with that exact spec lmk. She is really pretty and, after complete bolt on modifications she is also super fast. Sort of a sleeper in that color combo, doesn’t scare you like a trip black, but when you read my rear plate her color is the last thing you are thinking about.
I feel so lucky and blessed every single time I open the door and get in her. “I can’t believe I get to drive this car”.
I hope all of you know just how lucky we are to be able to experience the “Porsche” experience. Obviously bias but there isn’t another car brand I would take over a turbo cab. (Never driven a coupe - I should).
And thank you to the amazing people who started CarPokes and run it. I’d be happy to help in anyway you need just let me know via email. All [email protected].
Everyone drive safe, and smile, life is great.
