GT3 oil pressure

Recently purchased a 2025 GT3 Touring and noticed that the oil pressure at driving rpm (74 psi) is over twice the oil pressure in the 2024 911 S (34 psi). My local dealer's service department was unable to determine the normal oil pressure for the car, so I want to ask the CP GT3 community ... what's your oil pressure? The dealer is going to put PWIS on the job on Monday to see if the oil pressure is out of spec / throwing any codes.

I have only guesses, but 74 psi at normal driving seems high. Maybe it approaches 70 psi under full, hard acceleration? What's the reading at idle? The dealer should be able to sort this fairly quickly although I'm surprised they didn't offer any suggestions about a proper range.

Moving on, congrats on the getting a GT3 Touring! Definitely at the top of the list for me. Post some photos when you can.

A popular colorway! Tom has posted a similar winged car.

Service advisor searched the documents she can access, then had the shop tech come to her office to search the more in-depth documents to which he has access but ... nada. I'm sure they will have a story after the PWIS read.

At idle (and I'm going from memory here so may be off a bit), oil pressure is 50 psi, and at steady throttle at 2,500 rpm it's 74 psi. The gauge goes from 0 psi to 100 psi with no red zone at either end.

I'm no expert on the new GT3's but it is my understanding from hanging around owners and posts that it does run higher oil pressure. Here's a page for the GT3 Cup car (not an identical motor obviously, but lots in common) that lists oil pressure of 4.5 to 6 Bar (i.e., up to 87psi).... I've asked a friend with a GT4RS to check his and will report back what he sees...

The story develops ... My dealer hooked up PWIS today and couldn't communicate with the car, because a previous owner flashed a tune on the ecu - with less than 300 miles on it - not even break-in mileage (which is 1000 miles). A special kind of nitwit or trying to hide something. Anyway, after an ecu reset the oil pressure appears to be in spec.

Wow, that's hard to believe on several levels... Any chance the dealer was saving face after having PIWIS problems?

So was the high pressure you were seeing normal?

The oil pressure is indeed OK. Thinking about the face-saving angle, I am inclined to believe that my service advisor would not hesitate to come right out and tell me their equipment was balky.
