Where Can I Buy This Front Sunroof Latch Piece?

I found one on eBay from Lithuania with free shipping and a few from the USA with $20 shipping but those are just printed, I'd like to find a metal OEM replacement. I just called and left a message with my local dealership but other than that, where can I get one? 944Online only has the entire assembly, not this single piece. Mine is simply missing from my car.

Regarding a metal replacement, I think your only bet would be a Rennline aluminum one. Those are kind of pricey though, last I checked around 150 bucks. I found an oem one on pelican parts though for about 4. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/ ... 1-219-M100

They should be able to get it to you for ~$10usd.

Those parts 'could' be printed to be plenty strong enough, but the print orientation they used weakens them. As printed, the pivot hole relies on layer adhesion for strength, which is the weakest part of any ABS 3D-printed part. Printing it the other way would increase its strength dramatically.... Hole on the left is weak because it relies on the layers to stick together. Hole on the right is way way stronger because it benefits from layer after layer of uninterrupted plastic strands...

My current ones are printed in a carbon nylon filament and have had no issues holding up, but then again nylon offers good layer adhesion. Who knows if the carbon is actually offering support since it’s not “woven”. I do think I’m going to order some oem ones though because the fitment isn’t great regarding the screw hole positioning.

Pelican has the genuine Porsche part for under $5 plus shipping, as @Poorsche44 shares. Customer comments suggest it is the plastic part though. Same part is under $3 from Sunset Porsche. The hammered finish on the replacement doesn't look bad, and for $3 I'd have no trouble grabbing a few in case one does decide to fail in service.

I agree with Dr Bob on buying spares for these. Some people end up boring out the pivot hole a little bit because the roll pin on the handle can be a little bit too big. Having spares gives you some piece of mind in case you break one.

Thanks guys, got them from my local dealer for $4. They'll be here from Toronto in 2 days. I also tried to order a caliper bleeder valve but they were $50. What a rip.
