So with my new build coming up including a 01E 6 speed, I’m left wondering what clutch setup I should consider. I’ve read in other posts a combo approach with various OEM parts including from even a 930 will help preserve OEM feel but with much more grip. Dont want grabby, don’t want a lightened flywheel and will need to go to 60-2 like OEM to my S2 motor and for the sake of my MaxxECU. What are my options for a motor that will be in the 500 whp range with the torque expected from such?

Well if you want 60-2 the most obvious option is the TTV flywheel with a KEP pressure plate and your choice of disc (930, Cup or Sachs Motorsport). I think there may be a Spec or other options with the correct trigger options but they don't seem to have a reputation for drivability.

Ive personally got a KEP 3 (used to be called KEP 1) and the Sachs Motorsport disc which is supposed to be good for 550nm (https://aftermarket.zf.com/en/catalog/p ... 81861+9998

For 500whp with OEM feel, go with a Sachs Performance clutch (like the SRE series) or a TTV Racing flywheel paired with a Sachs or Spec organic disc. Avoid puck clutches.too grabby. The 930 clutch setup is overkill unless you're pushing way more torque. Stick with a sprung hub for smooth engagement. TTV flywheel keeps stock weight, and their 60-2 trigger works with MaxxECU.

I'm a broken record on this topic, but recommend a 951 cup disk with a KEP pressure plate. It is OEM smooth (really) and can hold 500 no problem. In the old days you had to choose between KEP1 and KEP2 but it seems they have some options in between now, so might be worth calling them. If you end up going with their KEP4 (old KEP2) and have things apart right now, you might consider reinforcing the firewall -- either with a plate or one of those braces you prop against the firewall.

Look into a Sachs or OEM-spec clutch kit from a 930, paired with a standard SMF to preserve inertia and drivability. You can enhance this with a performance pressure plate or upgraded friction material (e.g., organic or hybrid discs) to handle the increased torque, aiming for a capacity of 500-600 ft-lbs.
