For sure that was something I considered and was initially worried about. Some googling found a couple of videos and tests of soaking PLA in gasoline for a period of days with no detectable changes. Now that I'm done with the fuel pressure gauge I disassembled the adapter and removed the printed flare piece. It mic'd out the same and no detectable change in surface texture or firmness. I did coat the piece in hylomar before inserting to give it every chance of not being affected and to seal, which may have helped. Overall, it's not the best choice and I have a roll of Nylon that I didn't really want to open up but would be a better choice if someone were planning on following in my footsteps.

Last nights test run was a bust, but I can cross FPR and ignition switch off the list of possible causes now.

Interestingly, I didn't chose the right midway point and the issue cropped up while I was still 4 miles or so from home on the return leg. Got a bit hairy there as at one point even cycling the key didn't fix the issue and I thought that I'd be stuck in the middle of the road. But I was able to get it restarted and after a little initial hesitation the problem did not seem to recur the rest of the trip home. Glad that I was able to make it home, but it kind of put a damper on my plan to try and do some live troubleshooting as the problem had resolved. It does make "ECU or sensor or ignition module overheating" a lower entry on my differential diagnosis though. I wonder if the ICV may be involved as I still get poor cold starting (need to manually apply throttle on cold starts to keep it idling).

Probably could have been a more valuable trip diagnostically but the wiper motor I'd just disassembled and cleaned decided to stop working right after I got on the highway and parked themselves midway through their arc and directly in my eyeline. It was completely frozen when I got the car and freed up nicely and ran well at all speeds when testing in the garage. I ordered a used 996 motor last night and hopefully that will put my wiper issues to bed once and for all.

Sounds like a tough outing, sorry about that. Been there and done that.

What is the condition of your engine harness?

I had a random cut out just before installing my Kroon harness, and it's never come back. When I pulled the old harness out, I started wandering how the car ever ran at all.
