As best I know, the existing 992 mounts fit. I've had people order them an not complain, so think I would have heard by now if there was an issue. If your bumper is black textured plastic, adhesion is reduced so I don't recommend on that surface, though people have had success (especially when adding an adhesion promotor). If you get a set and they don't fit, I'd be happy to work with you to modify the design as needed, since I'll need to update the design for everyone anyway.

Don't let this happen to you!

Definitely want to avoid that!

The upper section is painted, but I can’t tell if the lower screws go into the textured plastic. I’ll follow up with a PM with details. Thanks Tom.

I found this in the Matt Farah video. If that's the final production version (???) it's gone from bad to worse. Looks like you can't use all 4 plate holes unless you screw into both the bumper and the rear diffuser. This one appears to be held on by only the top screws, for pretty obvious reasons. I'm going to a Porsche event tomorrow and hopefully will see a 992.2 in real life. Highly confident we can make something that works well, but it would appear the existing mounts would only work on the top holes -- IF this is how they are actually being shipped....

That’s what I was seeing, but that is a better picture. The lower ones may have to rotate and cantilever downward.

Tom, regarding a 992.2, I'll be in the same boat as Norville by Sep or Oct.

I have an idea how to deal with it, and hope I'll be able to size it up tomorrow when I see the 992.2. When do you get your car? If you want to be my beta tester for a free test set, shoot me a PM. I just realized the event is actually a launch party for the 992.2, so chances are pretty good they'll have one to check out in the morning!

I imagine that the Porsche event you are attending today will clarify the 992.2 rear bumper design and plate mounting limitations. Hopefully your 992.1 mounts will be adaptable and/or tweak-able for .2 cars.

This rendition is from the config's 360° view and backs up what you and Norville have posted, namely that the license plate holes (what terrible slander for Porsche bumpers) will be drilled into two panels, awkwardly I might add.

All is right with the world. They had three 992.2 cars on display and they all had this license plate bumperette thing, which is very similar to the 992.1. The pictures on the internet must have been pre-production cars or maybe non-us, but either way I'm relatively confident looking at these cars that the existing mounts will work. One day this week I'll go to the dealer and lean on them to remove the plate so I can see what's behind it, but I'd be super surprised if it not very much like the dot 1 cars. :)

Thank you Tom!

Your Euro spec/non U.S./Rest of World comment makes perfect sense. The configurator probably only illustrates something generic. The elongated embossed rectangle shown there looks typical for many non U.S. style plates.

Thanks Tom! The GTS has the new center exhaust, but I think the base and S are the same. All the pics I could find were Euro plates which obviously didn’t overlap.

My car left Emden last week, bound for Baltimore then Wisconsin. My tentative delivery is mid June. Luckily here we don’t do temporary plates, I will transfer mine to the new car when i pick it up so no sales assistant screwing cardboard to my bumper. Happy to beta test, or just send payment if you figure it out.
