This video I talk about my experience using Track Amour for HPDE and Autocross days over the last couple years. Even though my car has PPF already, these events can be damaging to the film. So I tend to still protect the paint protection film!

Another great video! I used that stuff to get my 992 home from the dealer safely before the ppf was installed. Works great and it's cheap compared to some of its competition. And you attract a lot less attention driving with it on you car compared to blue painters tape on a Guards Red car -- ask me how I know. :)

Yeah, I wish I would have thought of this when I bought me GT4, I would have opted for the PECLA delivery then drove it home! However, that would have been a very bad first experience with the car knowing that I can barely handle 2 hrs in the darn bucket seats.

I have damaged the PPF around my rear wheels several times. I now use TracWrap for track days. If installed nicely it is not really noticeable.

I have not yet watched the video, will watch later after my projects.

Makes perfect sense. I have a few pock marks on my PPF in 8k of street driving. Can only imagine what the track would do to it. PPFPF -- paint protection film protection film.

That is funny - protection for the protector!

But, J-Dub is correct. I've replaced several sections of PPF over time on the GT4 (rockers and behind the rear wheels like Jeremy mentioned) that have taken serious track abuse. To the credit of the tough PPF, the underlying paint finish is fine, not surprising since most of what comes off a track is rubber and small, fine debris.

However, I can certainly see that it would be less costly to protect further with the TracWrap over PPF rather than new PPF. But then again, where does it end? I got it! Blue painter's tape over TracWrap over PPF.

Scheduled my PPF around the rear wheels to be replaced again on Friday. FUN!
