Hi, I just joined this site and wanted to introduce myself. I have admired Porsche's since I was young and finally In April of this year I bought my first one, a 1982 911SC 3.0 pictures here below. I was planning on replacing the fuel filter and other routine maintenance and cam across this broken wire located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, below the fuel filter. Can anyone tell me what this wire is for. Thank you.

Welcome to the 911 club !
That's the connector for the oxygen sensor. I had the same on my 82. I made a new piece with the 3D printer when I had the engine out the last time. It must have being there for a while.
Cheers

Engelbert, thank you for your response. Will this O2 sensor connector being broken prevent the car from starting ?
