Prada Store, Marfa TX.

This is not actually a store but an installation. Only one of each shoe in the window and the door is sealed > Doubt if there is much demand for Prada shoes in Hill Country:).........

And for true Porsche enthusiasts, a stop at Schüttgut, the summer residence of Porsche family and where the family is buried. I like stomping my feet where a great man once walked. I do the same in Salzburg where Mozart was born. Schüttgut is next to Zell am See, the northern end of the Grossglockner Pass aka in my books as an Interstate through the mountains. But it offers some great views at various points along the way.

Yeah, yeah, I know it says "Porsche Parking Only", but motorcycles are way more fun in the Alps. ;)

And the Porsche family chapel where burial plaques are on the walls within. Out of respect for the family, I am not listing photos of those. Ferdinand Porsche, a plain simple man with great ideas and I highly doubt he wore a Rolex.

Events of that nature do to tend to punctuate the passage of time. However, it's all good.

Congrats to your son! Give him a big thanks from all of us here at The 'Pokes!

Looks like Wolfgang was trying out his marker.

Just kidding...hard to make out the signature, but understandable since it is not like you can rest your arm to sign a piece of paper. He has quite the car collection.

By the way, it is Schüttgut.

Enjoy the great food and scenery; I know it all so well.

Austria is my second home with Salzburg being my city. Our family goes back over 600 years there with our coat of arms in the abbey where the von Trapp children in the Sound of Music go up to in the movie. My ancestor was town advisor (Rats Herr) in Salzburg in 1480 when he ordered the stained glass windows from a glass mahler in Strasbourg that are behind the altar in that church.

Needless to say, I just lost 7 pounds from all the great food I had there a couple of weeks ago. There is food and then there is Austrian food. Could of used cuisine, but that sounds so upper class.

I should look up Wolfgang when I am there next summer. It would be great to see his collection, no translation needed.
