Some fun pics of Porsches at the SCCA Spring Nationals!

It is a huge benefit living only 60 miles from the Lincoln, Nebraska Municipal Airport because the old WWII airbase is enormous and it has been the site for the SCCA Solo Nationals for a decade and a half. The Nebraska Region of the SCCA uses the West Portion of the airfield for all their local events along with helping with the Nationals, the Midwest Divisionals and this past week's National Tour Event. The Spring Nationals has become a must go to " Tune Up " for many drivers and it takes on the flavor of a " Mini Nationals," with an inordinate number of past National Champions showing up to run in preparation for the big dance in September. With 335 Entrants and a waiting list is means the Championships coming up right after Labor Day will fill up the 1350 approx. cap on the event. I posted a few fun pics of just a few of the Porsches in attendance and I anticipate the Stuttgart strut will be very apparent in September, ha.

Whoops, that evil looking EVO 9 slipped in there somehow?! That is my son Ryan's killer ride and since he is a Porsche Salesman it really isn't too bad an error. Surprisingly the little Silver 4 door runs in SSP after SCCA consolidated two Classes a year ago, so he ( and I ) compete with a slug of Porsche GT3s, GT4s, and Corvettes. The Black GT3 with green wheels ended up .041 seconds ahead of Ryan in second place and the Winner was barely a tenth of a second ahead of that Black Beauty. Less than 2 tenths covered the top three spots and I happened to do quite well at my job , which was as a tire warmer, haha. Last years National winner was a GT3 and it looks like the majority of the machines in the SSP Class will be Stuttgart Slalom Kings!
