How far are you willing to drive? Quite a few options across the Bay- RMG Enterprises, BR Racing, Modderman, probably others!vram wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 12:10 pm On that topic, if you know of experienced independent mechanics for Porsches please share. Thanks. I've generally been using the Fletcher Jones dealership and would love to have good lower cost options.
Also worth trying to DIY if possible, a lot of stuff on the 996 is not too difficult.

In my experience, those swaybar parts are not too difficult to change. Now if you need to replace any of the control arms it becomes more work.vram wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:34 am Thanks for the list. Dealer said I need to replace the front sway bar end links and bushings. It’s not urgent. will do some research on DIY as well.
This covers a full suspension refresh, but you can get an idea of what’s involved with the sway bars.
Also some good DIY articles at Pedro’s. They are more Boxster focused but mechanically it’s all pretty similar between 986/7 and 996/7.

Necro-posting, but counting the days until my Cayman arrives. Have many NorCal backroad motorcycle loops that I can't wait to enjoy in a tight handling sports car.
