Hey all,
I will be fitting some new castor blocks this week and whilst they are pretty simple to fit I couldn't see any information on whether you can just raise the front up and unbolt them. Do the arms need to be under load with wheels on the ground or can they be hanging freely?
Thanks

Before swapping, measure your caster.
Then raise the car and swap the caster blocks with the wheels hanging. Torque the bolts mounting the caster blocks to the chassis, but not the nuts on the eccentric cranks.
Put the car on the ground and adjust the eccentric cranks to get back to the caster measured at the start. Then torque the eccentric crank nuts.

Did you use the 968 Castor blocks? Did you re-use the original eccentric bolt or source the 968 version?
Yes the 968 version. I reused my eccentric bolt as it was in good condition and relatively no difference.chrischrischris wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2026 8:34 am Did you use the 968 Castor blocks? Did you re-use the original eccentric bolt or source the 968 version?

That's good to hear. The 968 eccentric is a bit expensive.
