Hello, I would like to replace my old 89 951 manual boost controller (MBC) with an Innovate SCG-1 boost controller after discovering a few vacuum and boost leaks. Does anyone with experience with this have any advice? Thanks.

I've never tried the Innovate controller, but tried a number of electronic controllers back in the day and settled on the Profec B (with original big solenoid). The Profec is the closest thing to electronic version of a manual, so very easy to use. From what I can tell, the Innovate has lots of great safety features -- boost cut by AFR and by PSI is very nice -- though programming it looks a little daunting. I tried a couple of boost controllers where you had to program the solenoid's duty cycle directly and I never had the patience to get it just right. If you haven't already, check out the manual to see what's involved....
