Upgrading my DME to a new board from ECU Doctors to try to fix an intermittent no start issue I was having. Similar to F9t, they've developed a new board/circuitry with more modern components. I think both Vitesse and LR/Rogue MAF setups require a resistor on the stock DME to be cut in order to get the MAP data to be processed correctly , does anyone know with these aftermarket boards, if there's any issues with MAP sensor compatibility given there's no resistor to be cut and etc?

Also random question if anyone knows, installing a vitesse chipset into a 28 pin DME, does it require any changes to dip switches or anything like that if it was previously installed on a 24 pin? Or just plug and play?

My Focus 9 with onboard diagnostic comes with that resistor removed and an onboard connector for a MAP sensor -- so if you are using Vitesse or Rogue MAF, that one will work. (As an aside, if you use that DME without a MAP, you need to ground the MAP input to avoid idle control issues, unless Joe has fixed that now.) I don't know anything about the ECU Doc board, but would not assume it has an easy-to-cut resistor since that is a 951-specific trick and their ML3.1 board appears to be used in multiple applications. If you call them and they can't tell you with certainty, then chances are they are unaware of that hack (and the SMT components would make it a challenge, assuming you could find it).

Reached out to ECU Doctor folks, they verified that their DME will not work with the LR or Vitesse kits that utilize MAP sensors.
