There are a few options to get rid of the airbag warning labels on your sun visors:
1. Remove with alcohol or other solvents - this is messy and often leaves a shadow where the decal was
2. Replace with European sun visors - expensive
3. Cover in leather or Alcantara- expensive

I opted to go with a 4th choice. I found black vinyl decal covers that take seconds to apply. They are strong but keep the same texture as the sun visors. When looking directly at the sun visor, I can’t see the decal - looks like a visor without without decal. From an angle, you can see a subtle decal outline but no worse than after the decal removal method.

I meant to post this some time ago and forgot! Thanks for the nudge Larry.

Following is a link for Sunvisor Solutions, a company that furnishes a fantastic array of sizes and colors to hide the awful visor labels. I've been using their products for about 15 years on a dozen different cars and trucks. Never been disappointed!

Simple and effective. Good service too!

I tried the covers from sunvisors solutions but I couldn’t find an exact match for my black visors. They were very good but I like the eBay ones just a bit better. You can’t go wrong either way.

Funny how black interiors (all interiors, actually) can be so many different shades. Finding the exact match can be challenging at times.

For those interested, I would recommend spending $5.95 for Sunvisor Solutions' color chart with small actual sample swatches of each color they offer. Free shipping too so you're not out much money if none of their colors match as well as what you want.

But as Larry said, can't go wrong either way. Just getting rid of having to look at the ugly visor labels is a great step forward!

It's funny that in the BMW world people also complained about this. I've never paid attention, or it really doesn't bother me if the label is there. I guess to each its own. My opinion is to leave it along, so that way it doesn't show a defect. But that is me though.

Personally, I don't like seeing them every time I get into a car - they're difficult to overlook even if one is somewhat desensitized to them. The stickers also look especially bad from the outside if you leave the visors down.

Why they are still mandated is a mystery to me. I don't know for sure, but I don't think vehicles for the European market (and elsewhere) require the visor warning labels. (NHTSA is not known for its enlightenment when it comes to automotive enthusiasts.)

For what it's worth, in my experience the stick-on covers can be removed without harming the warning label underneath if one is careful. There are plenty of options out there - some probably better or worse than others.

Found this rather poor pic for a before/after look. However, it does show the difference.

I would remove mine also, but I'm afraid that it will do something wrong to the material, since I have the Alcantara headliner and sun visors too.

@elm310

I have never removed one from Alcantara and I understand why you might be hesitant to do so.

It might be fine, then again it could present a challenge depending on what label covering product was used, how long it had been attached and how you went about removing it. Maybe I'll try an experiment some day if/when I can find a discarded Alcantara covered visor.
