Restoring Rear Spoiler
I’m SURE this has been around for SOME time now since the 80’s, But does anyone have any tips or suggestions for restoring the black plastic rubber spoiler on these 944’s??? Mine is still in FAIR to GOOD condition and I’d like to KEEP it from drying out and cracking, Is there a process or possibly a company out there who could take on this issue??? Like to hear from someone who has done this before…

I would also like to hear what others have done. I periodically rub WD40 into it to keep it from drying out. It has helped. I tried a restoring black product, that didn't seem to help.

I wipe mine down with 303 UV protectant pretty often. So far so good.

All GREAT responses Guys, But I’m trying to focus on a restoration process, I DO use Protectant 303 EVERY TIME I wash the car, But has anyone had any success finding a restoration source??? I COULD be wrong but I THINK I remember someone saying that the part is no longer available… Or maybe it was a VERY expensive ticket item… Keep the comments and opinions coming…

Looking at the 1985-1988 parts catalog, the rear spoiler is composed of 3 parts. Only the left side piece ( 937 512 557 00) shows as available, $321 at Delaware Porsche.
I use Sonax rubber protectant.

It seems a bit cheesy, but I had really good results with Forever Black on the rubber bumpers of my old Mercedes (same vintage West German rubber as the 944 rear spoiler). I think other products have jumped on the ink-based band-wagon so there may be others like it now, but I can vouch for this stuff working pretty much as advertised....
Forgot about this ... also worked well on restoring rubber on my 2001 BMW.It seems a bit cheesy, but I had really good results with Forever Black on the rubber bumpers of my old Mercedes ....
