Is it possible to 3D print a fully functional Porsche engine using CAD files? If so, what are the challenges and limitations in achieving this feat? Are there any enthusiasts or engineers attempting such a groundbreaking project?

I moved your post to its own topic since it was in a 996/997 picture thread.

As for your question, I'm not aware of anyone who has 3D-printed an entire functional metal engine, though it is probably just a matter of time. Porsche is already 3D printing pistons for example.
