Just picked up the 991 Targa GTS. It’s great. Love it!

My cars are presently in storage and will remain there until April 2023. Neither of them have ever been driven in the snow so I am not going to start now. I do have a 2011 Audi Q5 to use as a winter car but it is not as exciting to drive as my summer cars: 2004 911 (996) Arctic Silver Coupe .that I bought in 2012. I recently bought a 2012 Audi TTs Coupe, Black.
I also have a 2011 Black Audi Q5 that we use in the winter months.
I have always been interested in cars and learned to drive on a 1956 Morris Minor that my dad bought for my mum. Finally in 1959 I bought my first car. I paid $75. for it because it had been in an accident. It was a 1955 Sunbeam Talbot MkIII, a black 4 door sedan but it had a sunroof on it. I kept it for a couple of years then traded it for a 1955 Triumph TR-3. Two years later, I traded the Tr-3 in on a new Triumph TR-4A then traded that in for a new Black 1967 Mustang Fastback with a 289 cu. in. engine in it. I got back into fun cars many years later when I bought a new 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo. l stuck with Volvos' until 2012 when I bought the 2004 996. I also had many company cars over the years but they were mostly 4 door sedans except for a couple of years in a new Pontiac Grand Prix back in the 90's.
When I figure out how to post a picture I will post my cars.

Welcome aboard Mike. Great to have you! I love seeing pictures of Porsches sliding around covered in snow, etc., but I've never been willing to do that myself. In fact, I generally drive my truck when it rains... Love your list of cars -- might have to start a separate thread to see what everyone's owned in life. My first car was $450, a 1967 firebird 6 cylinder. One side had been smashed beyond repair, and someone tried to recreate the whole side in bondo. It was like a hand-molded clay replica of a firebird. It looked like a firebird on that side from 50 feet away, but it lacked louvers and side lights and other pesky details. The engine was interesting though -- a straight 6 overhead cam by Pontiac....

Tom, thanks for the note. Porsche does have a winter driving session north of Montreal in the Province of Quebec. Porsche provided the cars and you spend a few days driving on ice on a frozen lake. I have not signed up for it yet but it is tempting. I just turned 80 this past week and I have to go to our Ministry of Transportation in a couple of weeks to renew my driver's license. We have to do that here in Ontario every two years once we hit 80. That is really the next step for me. My actual license expired on December 7th but I have an extension until the 15th when I have to get tested.
I guess that's what happens when you become mature.

I bet the Porsche winter driving experience you mentioned that's up your way would be a lot of fun. I'd do it - what a great opportunity it would be. The articles and discussions about structured winter driving experiences that I've read over the years are always enthusiastically described by those who have experienced them.

Mike, you should definitely look into that winter driving experience. There was a nice article about Porsche's winter driving experience in Excellence magazine in the past year. It was about the sessions in Finland if I recall correctly

In 2020 my wife did the 90 minute session at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, and I did the 2 day Driving Experience at Barber Motorsports track outside of Birmingham, AL. These were a 70th birthday present for my wife and a 75th for me. They were fantastic and as you might expect, Porsche thinks of everything and the food, hospitality, organization, and of course the CARS provided by Porsche were the best. The prices too were typically Porsche, but worth every penny to us.

Occupation: Retired USAF and airline pilot, AMSOIL Dealer for 25 years.

Daily driver: 2018 Toyota Tundra (outstanding truck).

Fun car: “Luna,” a 2014 Base Cayman 6MT, Carrara White on Black Std interior, 83k miles.

Previous: Had string of nine BMWs (last was an E39 M5) before having to scratch Porsche itch. First was an ‘09 997 Base Carrera 6MT, perfect first Porsche for me (and one I shouldn’t have sold frankly). Next up was a ‘17 Macan S CPO for six months; decided to sell after my wife passed unexpectedly.
